MacOS on windows 10 laptop
Hello, I'm starting with Swift or Xcode and aiming to build iOS apps. I need a Mac with macOS but don’t have funds for a new machine, so I’m considering dual booting—similar to Ubuntu on Windows 10. My laptop is an Acer Travelmate P2 with an i3-8130u processor, 8GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. I’ve seen several tutorials suggesting it’s possible, but I want to confirm if I can switch to Windows on this Mac as well. For storage, I plan to allocate at least 500GB for macOS and keep the rest for Windows.
Yes, you can install multiple operating systems. Just check if your Mac supports dual booting and has the necessary hardware.
I don't have an Apple device, which is why I needed a method to install it without using a Mac OS device.
Instead of setting up separate Windows and macOS installations, consider installing only macOS and using Boot Camp to add Windows. Dual-booting both operating systems on the same drive without Boot Camp is extremely challenging and often fails. Regarding the video, it would be better avoided—it makes things much simpler and likely won’t suit your system. The Niresh macOS project is no longer active. If you're serious about creating a Hackintosh, refer to the guide I used for installing macOS Big Sur, which has been successfully run on my current macOS Big Sur system with minor adjustments. Be sure to pay close attention to its warnings; if you’re unsure, Hackintosh might not be the right path for you.
Ensuring compliance means avoiding any activity that violates laws, including unauthorized use of software.
Are you planning to use the laptop for school projects? Do you already have it, or are you considering purchasing it? If you don’t own it and need it for assignments, avoid trying Hackintosh right now—it may damage Windows and make troubleshooting challenging. Doing so can slow things down significantly without hardware acceleration and might complicate things further.
