macOS 14: There's a hiccup when I play videos
I own a storage device with an Exfat layout. Playing videos causes occasional interruptions. This issue didn’t occur before my macOS 14 upgrade. Running First Aid shows no errors, yet another drive—APFS—shows the same problem. I can’t change its format because losing those videos would be disastrous.
macOS uses ZFS for data storage, which is highly dependable. You can transfer files to a location with available space, adjust formats, and restore them later. Among video players, mpv performs well on BSD and Linux but may have issues on macOS and Windows; it could help address the 'hiccup' problem.
