Hi there, I recently acquired a Chinese X99 dual CPU motherboard equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors, four DDR4 8GB 2133MHz modules, and a 1TB NVMe drive. Everything is powered by a 500W power supply unit. This machine serves as a server for my Proxmox OS. On my Proxmox node I’ve been running three VMs and one CT. My CT is currently hosting Pufferbot for my Minecraft server. There seems to be an issue where after a while the PC shuts down completely, causing all VMs and the CT to power off. I’m trying to determine what might be causing this unexpected shutdown. I’m unsure if the PSU is the problem since it’s only 500W, but I noticed in the BIOS (Aptio Setup Utility) there’s an option to enable or disable Hibernation, which is always set to Enable. Would switching it off prevent the shutdown? Or does this setting affect something else? Right now it’s really frustrating because my gaming servers are also affected. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to share more details about the PC specs if you have them. I’m looking forward to finding a solution.

Schedule a normal restart around 3:00 AM, when the gaming servers are idle in the morning, and everything will work fine.

Did you review the logs? If they’re empty, it likely points to a hardware problem, so you should begin troubleshooting there. Also, hibernation settings should only be used when the OS wants to hibernate; if it can’t initialize hibernation, it’s irrelevant.
