I own a MacBook Pro 2018, 15-inch, 16GB, 256GB model. About a year ago I noticed a slight color fade when moving the screen along the hinge. Everything seemed normal until then. I didn’t take any action because Apple repairs can be expensive. Around five days ago another issue appeared while moving the display—its color changed and it looked more like an old film reel. A local shop inspected it and said the internal components were dusty, which resolved the problem. That day it worked perfectly. The next day I noticed the Apple logo didn’t appear on boot sometimes, while the keyboard lit up, sound played, and the touch bar functioned. The display appeared distorted and split. I sent photos and videos of the boot process. I believe the problem is related to the ribbon display cable. Anyone have any advice?
