Mac to windows sound issue
Mac to windows sound issue
Ok so weird topic I have an old MacBook pro from 2010-2012 and the hard drive crapped out. I replaced hard drive and put new ram in and installed windows 10. other than some weird key bindings and some minor things I cant get the sound to work on the laptop. I can plugin usb Bluetooth headsets and screen mirror to get sound but the speakers and headphone jack aren't working. any ideas? Should I find a way to install mac back on, or is there a way to get the sound back with windows installed? drivers are up to date but have a problem Edited March 9, 2023 by Wethuriop
You may require the BootCamp drivers found through the bootcamp tool in Mac OS X. It seems there isn't a straightforward method to obtain them without using the utility. If you're considering reinstalling Mac OS X and don't have an installation USB, press CMD + R during startup, as it won't have the usual recovery tools, and it will launch Internet Recovery. This process is similar to what I experienced around 2012, where it would install Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion), after which you could upgrade to Catalina, the latest supported version at that time. For the installer link, refer to the support page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683.
