Your M.2 screw head has come loose, and the bottom is stuck. Try gently prying it out with a flat tool or a small screwdriver. If it’s still stuck, you might need to remove the screw head carefully or use a bit of lubricant to ease the way.

Confirming the situation: the screw head broke, but the threads remain in the stand-off. This is unusual—screws shouldn’t have any torque causing such damage. Would you like me to take out the stand-off? It might simplify the replacement process if the threads can’t be removed.

I understand it felt unusual, but I've been leveraging resources from a young age.

You need to push it through completely if you can't rely on another screw.

I wouldn't rely on drills for a motherboard. Instead, I'd use a foam tape to secure the drive in place.
