Make sure you're referring to a USB drive, not a USB port. If you're downloading from the internet, you'll need to transfer the file to the USB before installation.

Save the ISO file, then employ a program named "rufus" to write it onto your USB stick and subsequently set up Lubuntu from that device.

You can also utilize unetbootin, which offers numerous distributions in its selections. Simply select, click, and it will automatically download and install the chosen Linux distribution onto your USB drive. Alternatively, you can pick your preferred ISO file directly.

If you want to transfer it to an external hard drive, the steps are similar but not identical. Rufus isn’t compatible with external drives, so you’ll need a different tool or method.

Transfer the file to a USB drive for installation. It will create a single-use installer.
