I found two sets of identical-speed Corsair VENGEANCE RAM sticks. One features RGB lighting while the other does not. The non-RGB version is labeled LPX RAM and is roughly $20 less. What distinguishes them?

He frequency and timing details for both kits are available. You’ll need to add extra cost for RGB, and there’s a difference in the quality of integrated circuits between the options.

RGB is the standard color profile. If both options match in capacity, speed, and timing, a $20 price tag makes sense for Corsair. Skip the extra heatspreader and other differences—opt for the LPX instead. It avoids fitting issues with big heatsinks and offers more flexibility.

The RGB stands are a bit more vertical. The 'LPX' models feature simple cooling solutions and are roughly the same dimensions as standard green RAM modules. Corsair's website describes them as 'low profile,' possibly indicating their design intent.

Both options offer similar specifications, so neither is clearly superior.

They have the same specifications, but the color difference is the only factor.

They must have identical rated times; otherwise it doesn't apply unless RGB has special meaning for you.

theres a thing called 'timing'. Look for a number then it says 'cl'. Or just send us links of both sticks.

I think the pricing was misunderstood. The RGB version is actually pricier than the non-RGB model. Otherwise, the difference would be minimal. I’m sure the RGB Pro model does contain better silicon, but it shouldn’t significantly impact results if you’re simply using XMP.
