I was enjoying Watch Dogs 2 and initially achieving around 55-48 frames per second. After playing for a couple of hours, my performance slowed to 15-25 FPS. The GPU usage varied between 99% and 60%, while the temperature stayed at about 74 degrees. Hardware: ZOTAC GTX 1050TI OC Edition, I7 4770 stock with heatsink, Corsair 450W power supply, case fan, and a standard PSU.

I understand that in laptops, when the temperature reaches a threshold, the GPU limits performance to prevent damage by lowering the frame rate. I’m not sure about the exact mechanism or if it applies to desktop systems.

The temperature feels quite pleasant at 72 degrees. I usually see readings near 87, but during gameplay in Overwatch I've reached up to 92. Adjusting certain settings helps me maintain around 80-110 FPS on high or medium levels.

Consider your needs and performance to decide if an upgrade is necessary.

I don't think it's a good idea, but could you share your experience?
