There were notable issues with the chip at first. Only specific motherboards could handle certain normal functions.

Keep the voltage as low as possible; it's not safe to go much below it.

Release it immediately with a 50mV drop and run Prime95 and Asus RealBench for a full day. If stable, add another 50mV and retest. Continue this process until it fails or crashes. Alternatively, skip testing and let it crash until it boots, then gradually increase voltage in 20mV increments until it reaches the desktop, finally checking stability.

Honestly, I’m nervous about using Prime95 since it damaged my PSU once I was trying to optimize the CPU.

I reduced the voltage on the Q8300 and increased its speed from 2.53 GHz to 2.55 GHz. You can find the results in a screenshot attached from HWMonitor. What are your thoughts? Do you think I should lower it further?

I believe I owned a freezer pro that performed well. It was a 3-pipe 92mm fan tower cooler, regarded as a decent option back then. Updated December 15, 2020 by Bombastinator
