Low Stress HTPC VR Setup
Low Stress HTPC VR Setup
Hi All,
I’m planning to buy an Oculus Rift S this Christmas for my family as a holiday gift, so I won’t need to borrow the setup from work.
My PC is well-equipped with an i7 and 2080 Ti, and I aim to configure it as a HTPC on my main TV.
To simplify the process, I’m seeking guidance on setting everything up with minimal hassle. The goal is to just power on the PC, log in automatically, and open Oculus Home or Steam VR.
Anyone with a similar configuration would be helpful. I currently use Steam VR, Vive Port, and have an Oculus account. Is there a way to switch between these without relying heavily on mouse and keyboard, especially for easier use by my kids?
I’ve been searching online but most advice focuses on hardware installation rather than software setup.
In my perfect situation, I would start the system, connect the headset, and have a flexible space where users can launch whatever they wish. It should work well without needing the TV, allowing others to use it for console games or streaming like Netflix.
