I have an issue with my TP-Link Archer C50 Access Point. I can't connect to a high-speed network (5GHz) through the AP, but it works with my main router (FRITZ!Box Cable 6490). The AP is linked directly to the main router. I've tried changing the channel and width without success. Below are details of both devices. Let me know if you need more info. Could have checked the details more before purchasing; the Ethernet ports are just 10/100, meaning no matter how fast wireless devices connect, the link between your Archer and modem will stay capped at 100Mbps. Next time look for a model with gigabit WAN and LAN ports.

It's a confusing and deceptive promotional tactic; advertise extremely fast WiFi speeds but never disclose they're limited to other devices, not reaching the WAN or any Ethernet-connected network. You're not alone in this mistake. At least you'll be aware of it later and could assist others in steering clear of similar traps.
