I have a passion for vintage hardware. I’m not sure why, but I enjoy the excitement of playing on an old console from 1999. I just embrace the challenge, the need to improvise, and the learning process as it happens. The limitations of graphics settings are fascinating—like why I can’t run World of Warcraft on a private server in Wisconsin. One of my favorite activities is discovering damaged computers and figuring out what they can do. When trying to maximize performance, we once used custom OS disks, removed unnecessary software, or switched to DOS instead of Windows. Nowadays, tools like Razer Cortex can manage processes and free up memory automatically. Launching games on a dedicated gaming PC seems to work, possibly using something like VRware that pauses other windows. Should I explore more about gaming on Linux? I really like the concept of using Kali Linux.

Absolutely! It's much more engaging than seeing a modern setup hit 200 frames per second at full settings in 4K resolution. Depending on the games and your hardware, you might not even notice a difference on Linux, or it could be more noticeable. Unless the game is built for native Linux, Proton will likely slow things down noticeably, though it won't affect how light your operating system feels. In regular use, you'll probably see a clear contrast between Windows 10 and any relatively lightweight Linux distribution.
