Hello, I’m having an issue with gaming performance on my PC. My specs are:

* Intel i5-7500 3.6GHz
* RAM 2x8GB Corsair 2400MHz
* Gigabyte B250M-DS3H
* RTX 2060 Super Aorus

I’ve identified a bottleneck between my CPU and GPU. The games where I experience issues are PUBG, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Even when lowering graphics options on the graphics card, the FPS doesn't change, and I still have those same drops. About three months ago, I didn’t have these problems with Apex Legends. I started experiencing them with PUBG after getting this graphics card. For example, when playing Apex, the FPS can reach 144 (because I locked it at 144fps due to my monitor), but my screen frequently stutters even though the FPS is stable. With PUBG, I didn’t lock the FPS and it consistently sits around 90-100 fps regardless of settings. This stuttering is really frustrating. It’s not a driver issue – everything is up to date. I've tried various troubleshooting steps from YouTube without success, so I reverted all changes. (I noticed that every time I play these games, my CPU usage spikes to 100% in Task Manager. I checked the CPU temperature and it's around 70°C, which seems normal… or not?)

70C isn’t overly warm, and it’s nowhere near what would cause any throttling… Assuming you haven’t picked up malware or experienced botched drivers/Windows updates (sometimes a fresh format/reinstall can fix things in minutes that might take hours), you can find i5-7400/RTX2060 Super performance samples on YouTube to compare with. The i5-7400, with only 4 threads, might not achieve high enough frame rates for smooth 144Hz gaming… I’d try a 60Hz monitor to see if syncing issues disappear.

The i5-7400, with only 4 threads, might not be capable of high enough frame rates for smooth 144Hz gaming… I’d try a 60Hz monitor to see if syncing issues disappear – many games are more CPU-dependent than others, and even systems with CPUs like the 7600K or 9100 can struggle to maintain 60fps in newer titles.

So ,which is my best solution. Should i go for a better cpu. If yes, which could be the best ? Should i go for amd or intel , maybe in budget of 500euros. Cause i tried the reinstalling of the windows. But nothing. I think that if i turn the screen into 60hz , the money i spent for the monitor and the graphics card will be wasted , dont you think ?
