Low Grand Theft Auto V performance issues.
Low Grand Theft Auto V performance issues.
Despite being somewhat dated at this point, I just purchased Grand Theft Auto 5 for my PC. However, the game consistently fails to maintain a steady 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution with medium settings, frequently dropping below that rate – performance that exceeds what my system should handle. My specifications include:
Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, running with an overclock to its maximum stable speed.
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor operating at its standard configuration.
8GB (2x4) of 2400 MHz DDR4 memory.
The game is stored on a 2TB hard drive.
An MSI B350 Gaming Plus motherboard is used.
All graphics drivers are updated to the latest versions.
Does anyone have suggestions regarding why the game performs so poorly and potential methods for enhancing its speed? Thank you in advance.
Based on your requirements:
Low memory speed. The Ryzen processor performs optimally at 3000mhz or greater speeds.
Grand Theft Auto V frequently requires more than 8GB of RAM, although it can be played with 8GB, performance will degrade when settings are maximized or nearly maximized. 16GB is recommended.
Acquire a solid-state drive such as an
Intel 660p 1TB
for approximately $100 and store your games on this device; this will accelerate load times.
Grand Theft Auto V primarily relies on the CPU and RAM, placing less emphasis on a powerful graphics card—the 1070 is likely not fully utilized with this game.
