In the game Minecraft on version 1.18.2, my FPS is between 60 and 120 when I am standing still. It drops to around 40 every time I move or do something else. This seems really low even though I have a new graphics card, an Intel i5 10400F processor, and RTX 3060 video card. I also want to know if this is normal because my FPS in the game Valorant is much higher, around 200-250 while staying still. In Optifine, my FPS hovers between 200 and 190 but drops to about 90 when I move or break things. Both versions have VSync turned off. For both versions, Dual Channel mode is on. My CPU clock speed stays around the same level in both games, never going over 70 degrees Celsius while playing. When my computer is just sitting there, it gets between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. I tried adding more RAM, reinstalling Java, and reinstalling Minecraft to fix this problem. Here are some details about what is happening:
* In Vanilla mode on the debug screen, your FPS drops from around 200-250 (when you do nothing) to about 60-120 when moving things.
* Your GPU clock speed stays at a constant level in both games, never going over 70 degrees Celsius while playing. When my computer is just sitting there, it gets between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. Welcome to the forums! If you were me, I'd pick a power supply with at least 650W for all the stuff in my rig. After hearing what Steve found on Gamers Nexus, I won't trust any Gigabyte budget units. How old is that unit? Did you forget to say which make and model of motherboard it has? Also, tell us what version of BIOS it uses.
That PSU is really scary. It's way worse than just having slow Minecraft running.
Yeah, the power supply is a few months old. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B560M DS3H too. I'm not sure what the BIOS says yet, but the PC shouldn't look that worn out since it's been four months.
