I recently upgraded my computer's random access memory (RAM), graphics card, and power supply unit (PSU). Below are my specifications; however, I’m experiencing an issue where most games perform as anticipated with my new components, but in Battlefield V, I’m consistently achieving approximately 60 frames per second with frequent stutters and drops, despite expecting around 90fps. I observed that my central processing unit (CPU) was operating at 95-100% usage while the graphics card remained at only 10% or less. Someone suggested that my monitor might be limiting the performance of my graphics card, which is a concept I’m unfamiliar with. Any advice would be helpful, as this problem appears to be isolated to Battlefield V and now also seems to affect Battlefront I.

Specifications:
Motherboard: MSI Z87 Gaming 45 motherboard
Graphics Card: EVGA RTX 2080 OC
Processor: Intel i7-4770k running at 3.5 GHz
Memory: DDR3 1866MHz (brand currently unknown)
Power Supply: Corsair 850W Gold rated modular PSU
Game Storage: Battlefield V is installed on a 1TB 7200rpm hard drive
Solid State Drive: 120GB SSD for the operating system.
Monitor: A 60Hz Asus 1080p monitor (considered low quality but functional)
Connectivity: DisplayPort to HDMI adapter

Your monitor isn't limiting your graphics card’s performance, but you did say you have a DisplayPort to HDMI connection for your screen? Are you employing an adapter? It’s best to consistently utilize the same signal type – such as DisplayPort to DisplayPort or HDMI to HDMI – because there will be signal degradation and adapters aren't always dependable. Also, ensure you have the newest Nvidia drivers installed and eliminate that hard drive! Best of luck.

Should you choose 8GB or 16GB of memory?
Did you attempt to boost the performance of your coffee mug?

My computer has 16 gigabytes of RAM, and I don’t have an adapter for my monitor; it utilizes a standard cable that's simply converted. While I understand the preference for HDMI to HDMI connections, my Oculus occupies my only available HDMI port. Additionally, I’ve attempted to overclock my processor with limited success. I achieved a clock speed of 4 GHz initially, but after just a few hours, it would experience blue screens. Looking back, this occurred several years ago when I employed the OC Genie utility from my motherboard – a subpar tool.

Initially, please confirm that your graphics card is connected to the GPU port rather than the motherboard. Furthermore, a previous generation four-core processor will likely have difficulty running Battlefield V, particularly when paired with slower DDR3 memory.

The primary cause of the performance limitation lies in the 4770’s modest base clock speed.
