Low frame rate on AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
I’m experiencing low frame rates with my AMD RYZEN 1800X. It’s running at 32 GB TRIDENT DDR4 3000MHz but only reaching 1866 FPS. I changed the OC or BIOS settings multiple times, but it kept restarting until I reset the BIOS with F2. After that, I disabled A-XMP and increased the clock to around 2600MHz, which now shows a higher clock speed in Ryzen Master’s Command Center, though temperatures are still elevated. My NVIDIA 1060 has 6 GB RAM and consistently drops to 12-30 FPS even in Ghost Recon Wildlands on medium settings. What should I do?
You should have looked for BIOS updates. The same issue occurred with my G4560, which turned out to be an extremely old BIOS version.
I did that last night. My system ran at 1.20 then went up to 1.30. Boot times were about a minute each. I also used an SSD for the OS and separate SSDs for my games.
They implemented this to maintain consistent fan profiles. Probably, the fan curves were designed to be too strict for AMD.
