Low frame rate in CSGO with new build.
Hey there, I just got my new PC and was excited to aim for solid FPS in Counter Strike - Global Offensive. But I'm only seeing 130-180 FPS, which is way below what I need—at least 200 stable at 144Hz. My monitor is set to 144Hz, and I've got a 1.5k-hour CS session going. My old rig was still doing decent FPS back then, but this one feels different.
I've checked my specs: an i5 7600K, Galax 1070 EX OC SNPR, 16GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz, ASUS Z270-AR motherboard, and an SSD with 960EVO 250GB. Windows 10 is running. I've tried several settings in CSGO Launch Options—like disabling 3D acceleration, adjusting refresh rate, and tweaking graphics—but nothing seems to help. I've also set multicore rendering and disabled V-Sync, but my monitor still works fine.
In the BIOS I turned off onboard graphics and made sure my drivers were up to date. The CPU usage shows I'm using about 80%, which is surprising given how low the FPS is. I've also run Overwatch on EPIC settings with 120 FPS, which is more demanding. It makes me think the game might be using the Source Engine, but I'm not sure.
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's going wrong. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Have you explored max_fps 0? Additionally, why are you setting -tickrate to 128? Game servers differ—64 ticks for public comps and 128 for third-party or browser modes. Using 128 won’t help in those cases.
