Hi, I've just got an ASUS ROG 750JW and am playing Far Cry 4 on Windows 8.1 without an SSD. I've seen other players running older games at high and ultra settings, but they struggled to get them to run. I'm stuck on medium with Far Cry and even then I manage around 40 FPS. The NVidia GeForce suggests lower resolutions and not fullscreen, but with my GTX 765M I can't achieve high FPS on medium settings. I've reinstalled Windows, used Asus GPU Tweak and it only showed the minimum GPU clock (863 MHz) and a memory clock of 4008 MHz. I adjusted the slider to 920 MHz and 6000 MHz, but when I launch Far Cry it still shows artifacts and unreal colors instead of smoother frames. I've tried almost everything except upgrading to an SSD, but I'm not sure that's the issue. Can someone help? Thanks a lot.
I’m not sure about the details, but if NVIDIA gives no info, it might mean the default setting. It doesn’t seem to have an integrated video card in that case. You can verify this by checking your system settings or manufacturer documentation. Adjusting the GTX 765M helped, so you likely have the right hardware.
