Low FPS On 1080ti
Low FPS On 1080ti
Hi There, everything.
I was hoping someone could help me out.
I recently purchased a Palit 1080ti and tested it on Superposition; the results matched what I expected for a 1080ti.
However, some games are showing terrible frame rates, which is unusual for what I've seen in videos.
The two main titles I'm playing are Far Cry New Dawn and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Other games like Metro Exodus are running perfectly at high frame rates, as shown in benchmark clips.
If you have any insight into why this happens, it would be greatly appreciated.
All games are running at 1080p.
Far Cry Results: 86fps (Ultra)
Shadow: 90fps (Ultra)
Videos online are reaching the 100s with a 1080ti and a Ryzen 5 CPU.
PC Specifications:
Ryzen 5-2600
16GB 3200Mhz
550w PSU
Palit GTX1080ti
Asrock X470 Gaming K4
Are you playing the game at the same stages? Or are you testing in benchmarks?
Could it be that they shared the same RAM? The timing is identical—this might explain your issue.
What about the graphics card? Is it overclocked? Is yours the same?
Playing the benchmark on both systems. My GPU isn't overclocked. A friend's rig has a Ryzen 5 3600 and he's achieving 97 FPS in Far Cry. Regarding the videos, I'm not sure if their setups have overclocking enabled, but seeing someone get higher FPS with a 1080 makes me think there might be an issue. So far, it seems to be just these two games.
From the details provided, it seems you're only lacking a few frames, which isn't something I'd be concerned about. Regarding the memory, do you mean the factory specifications or the actual performance? Since the 2000 series Ryzen models officially support up to 2933mhz, it's possible your system isn't reaching 3200 unless you've adjusted it in the BIOS. My main question is whether your memory is actually operating at 3200mhz.
Then . . . there are a few other possibilities I can consider.
How's your disk drive performance?
Is the CPU running smoothly?
Can you adjust the CPU speed to 4ghz continuously for testing?
But honestly, I believe the main issue lies in the settings you're using rather than what others are doing.
