Low fps in games?
I received a new motherboard and reinstalled Windows to clear out old drivers. After downloading all the necessary drivers, I’m still experiencing low FPS in some games. The system stats show CPU i5-12400f, GPU 1070ti, 16GB RAM at 2400MHz (upgrade planned). My current setup is MSI PRO B760-P motherboard, Z690-A DDR4 RAM, and an ASUS TUF 750W PSU.
Low FPS means poor frame rates, making gameplay feel sluggish. Before, things ran smoother; now it's slower. How many storage options do you have? Were the games installed on a hard drive and causing delays? I need more details to help. Have your settings been adjusted? Was the resolution changed?
Before reaching 300 FPS, the game ran smoothly but experienced stutter due to low PSU voltage. Upgrading to an ASUS Tuf resolved the issue. The motherboard was swapped because it lacked a heatsink on the VRM, causing VRM temps to spike to 80°C. After installing a new motherboard, I had to reinstall drivers to fix compatibility problems. Afterward, testing various games showed FPS drops in some titles, especially Dota 2 with an i5-8600K. Switching to an i5-12400F improved performance significantly—reaching 200 FPS with MSI B760M-P and then stabilizing at 300 FPS. The stuttering reappeared when using the new CPU with MSI Z690-A, dropping to 200 FPS and then fluctuating. In contrast, using the same CPU with MSI B760M-P maintained steady 60 FPS. Storage remained consistent at Gen 3 M.2, and resolution stayed at 1080p. The issue seemed linked to RAM speed (2400 MHz felt sluggish for the i5-12400F), though I’m not an expert. GPU performance appeared to be the main bottleneck.
the issue is unclear; you haven’t provided enough details. it seems there’s confusion in your description. the text appears to repeat assumptions and lacks clarity. please share full system specs, benchmark links, and more context for a proper review.
