i have a issue in only gta online where my fps goes to like 35 and lower and i dont get why cause i dont have the settings to high and i have a decent pc and it should be running good
msaa x2
and very high settings
i5 3470
16gb ram
1060 3g
but there isnt nothing wrong with my build
and like i said everything else runs fine
singleplayer
70+fps
and i can put msaa on x4 and have the game on ultra
my pc isn't like a piece of crap
it can literally play any game at ultra at 50 or 60 fps or even better
no one is claiming that,
i had bad experiences with Gta v,
i’m using an OC 1070 on a gysnc 1080p screen and i often face terrible frame drops and tearing, though sometimes it runs perfectly,
in certain cases skipping vsync improved performance,
and keeping a steady frame rate prevented the game from crashing completely,
i’m not proposing specific settings to lower performance, just that Gta v can behave strangely and you need to experiment with settings and drivers.

The difference between MSAA OFF vs x2 is around 6 fps, depending on where you are in the game. Your hardware is fine to leave it at x2, or even x4, provided you stay below the 3GB VRAM threshold. And the difference between MSAA OFF vs x4 is around 9 fps. Bare in mind that x2 uses around 666 MB of VRAM and x4 uses around 847 MB of VRAM. When you bump it up to x8, you are using around 1.2GB of VRAM and lose around another 9 fps. The difference between MSAA OFF vs x8 is around 18 fps. Among other contributing factors of course.
Just think about what all the other graphic settings do to the game. The trick is to turn down the fps killing settings that don't affect visuals to maximize your fps and lower your VRAM consumption to around the 2.6-2.9GB area because this VRAM consumption will go up the longer you play the game, especially online.
