Low fps
Low fps
I'm sharing my gaming experience here, comparing myself to others. My setup includes an Intel core i5 6400 CPU, GTX 970 Zotac reference card (blower design), and 8GB RAM. Despite playing at the highest settings with FPS limits turned off, I’m seeing around 70-80 FPS in games like SMITE. My friend uses a GTX 960 from Gigabyte and is achieving 90-120 FPS under similar conditions. This gap is noticeable across titles such as Overwatch (80-90 FPS vs 100-120) and Witcher 3 (45-55 FPS). I’m wondering if my hardware might be weaker or if there’s something I’m missing, like driver issues or display settings. I even reset Windows but it didn’t help. Thanks for reading!
I created this subject on my phone. I don’t understand why it added the same words multiple times. Thanks!
I'm glad you're feeling better, but it's interesting to know why your frame rate drops. The CPU can definitely play a role in performance.
Ensure your system isn't being slowed down by background tasks. Verify there aren't any processes hogging resources that affect your gaming performance.
His CPU is more powerful, but the performance gain might not be obvious, particularly in gaming. It could stem from a different driver or driver version issue. What operating system are you using, and does your device match the driver version he has?
My GPU temperature stays at a maximum of 80°C and never exceeds it, even though in certain games like League of Legends it remains near 55°C. I'm running Windows 10 while he's using Windows 7. I've also installed the newest drivers via GeForce Experience. Previously, my cousin's temperature was about 65-70°C during Witcher.
His processor (the 4770) runs at 3.4 to 3.9 GHz compared to yours (the 6400) at 2.7 to 3.3 GHz. That gives him a clear edge in single-core speed. On the one side, exceeding 60 FPS is usually sufficient because your screen only supports that frame rate. On the other side, he’s clearly outperforming you, which makes sense
