The game might run on about one-eighth of the cores, but they perform poorly in terms of speed and efficiency. You’ll likely get better performance with an i3-10100 processor!

Even with a theoretical high-end processor, a modern CPU with comparable cores and speed could still destroy it from space. The Pentium 4 and AMD FX share some similarities since they were both poorly thought-out designs that lagged behind earlier models—but the Pentium 4 managed to survive longer by increasing its clock speed, thanks to Intel's marketing efforts.

The hyperthreaded P4 processors had notable issues. For certain single-thread tasks, they worked more efficiently without HT enabled, as the second thread consumed the shared 28k of L1 and 2mb of L2 resources.
