It's only a minor improvement because the chip cores run slower. It's wiser to purchase a upgraded CPU in the same socket, like a 3900X (around $200 on eBay) or perhaps a 5950X if you manage to get a good price, since a LGA 3647 motherboard makes it likely you'd still save money with a 5950X for roughly $350.
