I set up my Ryzen 5 3600 with the Wraith Stealth cooler yesterday and noticed a consistently quiet whirring. Temperatures are around 38°C during idle and 60°C while gaming. Any suggestions? No cables touching the case, all screws on the heatsink tightened, and changing the power plan to energy saver cut the noise. It might be the rear fan or something else.
It might just be a fan. Occasionally, I encounter the same problem. I only use Noctua fans, and sometimes a particularly loud fan begins making a sound, as if it's interacting with something. I can't imagine what it would be touching, other than the fan's housing. Gently shaking the case or moving one side and repositioning it resolves the issue. This tends to happen infrequently.
