Looking to Upgrade
Looking to Upgrade
Hello everyone
I have some money on the side and I decided since it's Black friday period I can try and upgrade my old-ass rig. I am looking to buy a CPU,GPU,Mobo and maybe new RAM. My budget is around 500-600 euro although I would like to include a 144hz monitor in that (if possible). I mostly use my PC for gaming and specifically FPS games so 144hz would be nice. Do you have any recommendations ? Should I perhaps wait a bit and increase my budget?
In any case, thank you for taking the time to read this.
Here’s a rewritten version of the text:
To build a gaming PC on a budget, focusing on performance while keeping costs down requires careful component selection. A strong graphics card is key, with options like an RX 580 or 590, or a GTX 1650 Super being ideal choices. However, prioritizing a powerful GPU can impact other areas of the build. For example, a budget of around $600 without a monitor might require compromises elsewhere.
Adding a 144Hz monitor could cost approximately $160 and would bring the system down to roughly $450. Achieving 144 frames per second consistently in demanding games like League of Legends, CS:GO or Minecraft might be challenging at that price point – you might see 144fps on less intensive titles. This build could be a good option for those wanting a competitive gaming experience without breaking the bank.
I would tinker around with

and see what you can build with that budget.
Here’s a rewritten version of the text, focusing on clarity and flow:
To build a decent gaming PC for around $600 (excluding monitor), you'll want to prioritize the graphics card. A solid option is an RX 580 or 590, or a GTX 1650 Super. However, pushing for higher performance will likely require compromises elsewhere in the build.
For example, a good 144Hz monitor costs around $160. If you opt for that, your budget drops to approximately $450. While this setup might achieve 144fps on less demanding games like Minecraft, LoL, or CSGO, it will be challenging to consistently reach those frame rates in more intensive titles.
To get the most out of your budget, aim for a 144Hz monitor ($160) and stick with a mid-range graphics card (RX 580/590 or GTX 1650 Super). Be aware that pushing the GPU too far can force you to sacrifice components in other areas – a build of around $600 without a monitor is achievable, but be prepared for limitations.
