Hello, Your current setup looks solid with a powerful CPU and ample storage. Upgrading to a higher-end cooler and potentially a more powerful power supply seems reasonable. The PSU you're considering is 1000W, which some sources suggest should be adequate for your system. However, the numbers can vary depending on the workload—some calculators mention 140W while others talk about higher draw during gaming. Since your motherboard supports it, you’re in a good position. Just keep an eye on real-world performance and monitor temperatures after the upgrade to ensure everything runs smoothly.

It's running at 250W, with an extra 600W added for the 5090 plus other components. You might consider slightly lowering the voltage on both the CPU and GPU.

I definitely wouldn't be with them given the problems they're facing.

Checking the details for 14600k, it appears similar challenges are present.

I think it's all chips, but you'd have to watch a few videos to see. There's lots of coverage out there.

Psu is okay There are worries about cpu wear possibly caused by voltage spikes from faulty components. Earlier there was a BIOS update, but it seems linked to poor supplier practices that increased power to the chips. If you’re worried about long-term effects, manually lower all core overclocks to around 1.3-1.4v or whatever your cooling allows.

I reviewed the details but remain unsure whether to purchase the 14.6k or 14.7k units; I prefer the 14.7k but worry about power supply issues given its 1,000w rating.
