Thank you all for the feedback from seven years ago in my earlier discussion.
I hope everyone had a safe journey through Covid.
In 2016 I used this setup:

And I recently installed the 3080 RTX Geoforce.
This configuration performed excellently for seven years. It supported my own architecture practice and worked well with Blender, Revit, Twinmotion, Games, and Unreal Engine.
However, I’m eager to expand. There are many scenarios where I need to review two or three Twinmotion or Revit models with clients and engineers.
I feel prepared to build something impressive—perhaps a budget of $8,000 to $10,000. Would you suggest keeping any existing components or replacing everything?
I began incorporating VR into my design process. My goal is for the PC Build to handle ultra graphic settings in Twinmotion and support high-end 4K gaming.

well intel introduced its latest workstation platform fclga4677 in january 2023. however, the cpus and motherboards haven’t been released yet (or at least i couldn’t locate them—some listings appear on newegg or amazon but are currently out of stock). the top-tier processor offers 56 cores and 112 threads with a price near 6k (though that might be excessive). xeon w7-3455, once available, would provide 24 cores and 48 threads at around 2.5k, which should suffice. amd is expected to launch its own workstation platform in september, though availability remains uncertain. you might also consider a consumer-grade option, but performance could be limited. upgrading to a 128gb ram system on a consumer platform could work, especially if you use the full 4x32gb slots on an am5 motherboard.
Main question, what are your thoughts on the RTX3080? Are there any driver problems or visual issues?
If you're satisfied with the quality and stability of drivers in your productivity tools, consider the RTX 4090. It will provide a significant improvement for 4K and VR experiences.
If you're not satisfied with the RTX3080, you might want to upgrade to a similar workstation card such as the RTX 6000 ADA GPU, which shares the same chip technology as the RTX4090.
Concerning the CPU,
@dark_globe
mentioned the Intel Sapphire Rapids 24 CPU and the current generation AMD 16-core CPU as solid upgrade choices. The performance increase from the Broadwell era to today's Intel or AMD options will be substantial.
If you agree on this, we can proceed with preparing a parts list for you.
The 3080 functions well. Real-time rendering is fast in Blender. It remains stable in Unreal Engine 5 without issues.
I haven't encountered any driver problems or visual artifacts.

It’s quite challenging to assemble a large workstation. I’ve done similar projects, but opted for the darkest chassis available, which was quite excessive.
Running two RTX 4090 graphics would be possible if you secured two Nvidia founder editions. They’d likely perform much better when combined (a bigger case such as the Fractal Design Meshify XL could be beneficial).
