I’ve faced slow WiFi in my new place for a whole year now. I’m set on the basics, but the setup feels terrible. Mesh networks are what I’m considering—especially Linksys Velop, Google WiFi, and Netgear Orbi—but tri-band isn’t common. If I’m investing close to $1,000 with multiple satellites, I want something that can handle future upgrades. Would it be better to wait for more tri-band models or go ahead and buy now? If you recommend something, what’s your top choice? Linksys offers a strong lineup and easy management, while Netgear already has tri-band support. Google WiFi is another solid option thanks to good ratings and affordability.

The latest products will incorporate 802.11ax, also known as Wi-Fi 6, for mesh connections. I recall Netgear mentioning an updated Orbi model at CES, though I didn’t find details on its launch date or cost.
