I think up to at least Vista most windows version had this, it seems to be sorely missing in any version of win 10. I'm just wondering if there's a way to restore this very useful function or I'm just not finding the option and it still exists? This is what I'm talking about, any new windows will be opened just like this... on top of each other, symmetrically... now I always have to do it manually and it's a huge pain when modding my games... And it doesn't even remember the positions of windows after closing so I have to redo it every time, very tedious. I don't get why this was removed, it was always the essential feature of "windows" (hence the name) Or maybe it's still there, or can be recovered, here's hoping lol...

Sure thing! I understand what you're looking for. You want to control which windows stack or cascade instead of all of them. There might be an option to lock a specific window's position, so you can avoid unwanted cascading effects like the Steam client or document. Let me know if you'd like help finding that setting!

Sure, you might want to reach out to the developers of the metro UI for Steam. They could possibly offer a feature to lock that specific window in place, though it seems unlikely.
