I currently reside with my family and recently switched to fiber. The main issue is poor signal in my room, which greatly reduces download speeds—most areas get 150-200 Mbps, but I’m only seeing 70. Unfortunately, we lack Ethernet ports, so I can’t use that option. I’ve tried power line adapters, but they caused static in my microphone. Right now, the only idea is to purchase a better access point from the ISP. Any suggestions for good access points under $150 would be great!
Uniifi AP. Unifi 6 Lite suits a 2-story home around 2700 sqft—mostly covered by the long-range unit. The price is about $99, while the full coverage at my workplace spans roughly 4000 sqft. Note that the 6 Lite is located in the very top corner of my house, with only a brief loss of signal in the opposite closet on the first floor.
It's significantly more than I originally planned to invest in, but based on your advice, I've chosen a mesh system. I'm using ASUS for my main router/modem, the AX86S, and the XD4 Mini for my access point and satellites.
