You're using Xfinity 1.2Gbps internet. The modem is located upstairs on the first floor, while your office is on the second floor across the house. The connection isn't ideal because the house only has one coaxial entrance and you're not ready to run extra wiring. Your phone works well with a Wi-Fi adapter (Rz616) connected via a 6-foot cabled antenna, achieving about 330Mbps. Your OnePlus 11 gets much faster—around 775Mbps—when placed near the antenna. You're wondering if you need a different type of Wi-Fi card or an upgraded antenna setup to match your phone's performance. Let me know what details you can share so I can help further.

Choosing a mesh Wi-Fi setup seems ideal. If not, using a cable would be better. Consider testing a higher-quality Wi-Fi adapter, such as an Intel Be200-based one.

What modem or router model do you own? Your devices operate on the 6 GHz frequency range, which can be more susceptible to interference from walls.

Yes, you can configure your adapter to operate exclusively on the 5GHz band. Alternatively, you can set up a dedicated 5GHz network on your router and connect your device there.

This model pairs a modem with a router in one unit. It includes Xfi pods for expansion, though the fine details note a maximum data allowance of 500MBs.

Consider replacing their router and modem with your own and using a mesh network. I wouldn’t purchase any Comcast or other ISP services.

I'll examine swapping their equipment but am worried about matching performance between the phone and PC. The phone handles twice the speed, so I need to understand what the PC is missing.

The PHY speed of each device matches. Both operate on the same frequency ranges. Check the specifications for confirmation.

Uncertain about checking PHY rate, but here are the PC settings for Wi-Fi.
