Your Dell laptop (Windows 10 Pro) is rejecting your password despite entering it correctly. The system appears to be displaying an error about incorrect credentials. You're locked out even when you're sure of the right password. In such a situation, you might try bypassing the login screen by using alternative methods like a recovery mode or factory reset, but be cautious as these actions can erase data. If the issue persists, contact Dell support for further assistance.

Local Windows user account confirmed. That's all clear.

It seems current methods won’t let you alter the password directly. You may use a Windows installer or a Linux USB drive. With a DVD or USB, boot it and choose your language; look for a 'repair your PC' option in the corner. Click it and proceed to advanced settings, then run diskpart or similar to locate the Windows installation drive (it’s likely not C:\). Once identified, rename the executable file accordingly—replace the original with the new name using commands like renaming osk.exe to osk.exe.old. Then copy cmd.exe to replace the on-screen keyboard. After rebooting into Windows, access the login screen and select the easy access feature. Enter your new credentials in the format provided. Remember to remove the old osk.exe file after logging in, as it’s actually CMD. If needed, you might find a way to change passwords via recovery USBs, but they often fail or require admin access.

Other accounts such as Microsoft and command prompt can also help remove an orbypass password for a Dell laptop. You can visit the Microsoft account page to request a new password and await their response. Additionally, several third-party tools are available as alternatives, including links like http://www.chntpw.com/ and http://www.passgeeker.com/bypass-windows...sword.html.
