My HDD hardlocked recently and it caused a lot of issues on my PC (still functional, but many preferences and settings were lost during the corruption). I didn’t realize I hadn’t set up a backup, so that’s the situation. I’d rather avoid Windows’ built-in file versioning or backup options, as I don’t trust them enough. (I disabled them a long time ago.) I’m using Windows 10.

Google Drive? You might want to upgrade your storage—maybe a new SSD or HDD. Is the Windows version affected by the damaged drive?
