Which path should you choose—Team Blue or Team Red? Regarding the old GPU, it seems still functional; I still have a 970 G-series chip and it works fine. Don’t worry about the GPU right now. You mentioned you plan to upgrade later.
Earlier this year I experienced a fortunate setup with the i7-6700k and 1080ti. I assembled the system without a dedicated GPU (using a handcrafted 780) and then upgraded to a solid 1440p display and the 1080ti. The graphics chip remains powerful, but performance is still limited by the CPU. I’m aiming to improve this for future builds. My plan is to run AAA games on a 32-34 inch 4K OLED with G-Sync and a 144Hz monitor. If possible, I’d like to extend my current build without major changes, since it works well outside of Starfield. #first world problems
