Hi! I've been using AVG since 2012 and it's always worked well until the mid-2010s... Then things started acting up around 2014-2015. Honestly, this antivirus does a lot of unusual things, and I'm not sure where to begin. Are there any better, more thoughtfully designed options available for 2015? I tend to be very cautious with installations, so I rarely encounter viruses—I actually don't get any at all!

I've relied on the free edition of Malwarebytes for many years, and it consistently performs flawlessly. Just avoid activating the "free premium trial," as the free version checks your drives and files regularly and stays up-to-date. It’s comparable to a reliable WinRAR for antivirus tools.

You have malware samples and Avast is functioning well. Avast is great since it communicates during threat blocking.

I use Avast and sometimes Microsoft Security Essentials. If something needs removal, I scan them separately instead of doing both at once.
