Hey there, I'm trying to set up a server with about 200 USB modems. Based on my calculations and tests, each modem needs its own USB controller, so I'd need roughly one controller per 10 modems. I've been using a Raspberry Pi cluster so far, but it's started causing some problems. I found a USB PCIe card that offers four controllers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HJZEA2S/. I'm looking for a motherboard that can accommodate at least three of these cards and connect ten modems per port, totaling 120 devices if using three cards. Since I have no experience with motherboards, I'm unsure which ones support these cards, especially since I'll be running Linux. I need the most affordable option that has two Ethernet ports. I've seen some mining or server boards with many PCIe slots, but I'm not sure they'll work for this setup. Where should I start searching? Also, are there any other concerns I should consider besides ports and slots? Since I won't be running power-hungry applications, that should be fine. Thanks!
