Hi, I’m looking for guidance on my build. Right now I’m focusing on the GPU, CPU, storage, and peripherals. I’m still deciding whether to go with a GPU like the 4060 because it fits within my budget, or the 6700XT since it’s my ideal choice. A superior option exists—better hardware, a more suitable board, a top-notch GPU, and that 180Hz Gigabyte monitor offers great value for $150. I could purchase a 6700xt for $360 locally while 4070 models are extremely costly from a budget perspective. I’ve also been considering cheaper storage options, but when comparing the read/write speeds—Samsung 990 Pro at 7,450/6,900 MB/s versus Samsung 970 EVO Plus at 3,500MB/S and 3,300MB/S—it’s hard to say if it would matter. I don’t really understand those speeds.
Are you really intending to spend $740 on a 6700 XT? Probably not. If you're pressed for time, think about an RX 6800 (not an XT) instead. You'll enjoy the additional 4GB of VRAM, believe me. The CPU is a solid choice, though be cautious when trying to overclock it. I'm uncertain if the VRM can support pushing the 5800X3D too hard.
I discovered a trustworthy store that sells for $360 and it's a 6700xt model. I chose it because of that. Regarding the CPU, I'm not sure about overclocking yet.
