Oh, yeah. I enjoyed that series as well.
The lastest Thief had an interesting story as well. That one area though....damn, it had some Amnesia the Dark Descent vibes going on.

I only faced one crash during the entire playthrough, which took me about 10 minutes off. You're correct, it might not be worth recommending, though it was a great game overall.
