Looking for some assistance with PUBG? I can help with strategies, tips, or anything you need to improve your gameplay.
Just a brief history here. Three years back I assembled a basic PC that wasn’t impressive at all. The key was the right configuration. After having kids, my schedule opened up and I could play games occasionally. Now two coworkers introduced me to PUBG, which really caught my interest. Since the kids are grown, I’ve had more time to experiment. I downloaded the game and it performs well—24fps even on low settings. Older titles run smoothly at normal or high levels. Personally, I prefer good performance over maximum quality; I’m okay with some compromises for smoother gameplay. The machine is now considered outdated, so what should I do next? Upgrading the hardware or OS might help. A new CPU would require a new board and RAM. If my graphics cards are limiting things, updating to something like an RTX 660 Ti or similar could make a difference. There might be settings I can tweak to improve things without replacing everything. Thanks for any advice!
It seems you're looking for an alternative phrasing. Here are a few options:
- Probably you need a 1060, the RX 580s aren't available.
- You might want to consider getting a 1060 instead of the RX 580s.
- It appears the RX 580s are out of stock.
Agreed. The rest of the build looks fairly good, though your card and its sli value are marked as the bare minimum for PUGB. Even a 1050Ti would push you nearer to 60fps with medium settings.
I’ve spotted some 580 units nearby, possibly a bit cheaper than the 1060. For me, it’s a choice. I haven’t used an AMD GPU before, so I’m a bit unsure about trying one. But hey, maybe it’s the issue with my cards. I got a good deal on them back then, and they worked fine enough.
I work with a 1060 3Gb card and in ultrawide 1080p at high settings I achieve 80-90 fps. Previously, an RX 480 gave me significantly less—about 20 fps lower (optimized for AMD). I’m surprised by your lower performance, especially since my friend with a 660ti gets 30-40 frames at the lowest settings in 1080p.
Your 960 runs smoothly at 70-80fps. The hardware seems a bit outdated; consider upgrading for better performance. Before spending money, consider these two steps. First, get the newest display drivers from nVidia. If your PC hasn’t been updated in a while, you might be missing important updates, especially those that improve PUBG performance and SLI support. Second, switch off SLI and see how your system performs with just one card. Older cards may struggle with SLI. For PUBG, nVidia’s 10xx series is recommended over AMD options. You’ll also find built-in features like ShadowPlay, which can record game highlights—useful for future reference. You might spot affordable used 1060s in the 3GB version on the second-hand market as mining profitability drops.
you may be right. Not 100% sure how up to date i am. When i say i have SOME money, i mean I have a little. I would love to do another build. but its hard justifying spending the money when mine now works good for all other things I do, and I really dont play like i used to. Plus theres the add bonus of explaining it to the wife..............
