What is the room temperature? 20°C equals 70°F. I’m not convinced you’re hitting those numbers unless you’re in a space that’s 30°F on its own. (I’m using the same cooler, CM Lite 120, on a 1700W unit—it works but isn’t at 20°C). Are you certain your RAM is actually operating at those speeds? Or is it just the RAM you purchased and installed? If so, verify it’s running at that frequency at startup by checking CPU-Z or the memory section. My guess is it should be around 2133MHz—if you can push it to 3200MHz or more for gaming, that’s a massive boost (but see below). As someone who overclocks a few 1700W systems, there are some improvements possible—but only if you share your specific needs. For example, in rendering, getting your 1700 up to 4.2GHz puts it in a strong position against the R5 3600X. But with your GPU, it seems unlikely the CPU is limiting performance; your GPU would need replacement if that’s the case. What are your intended uses?

I wasn't sure either. My BIOS and AMD master indicate 20 C (before OC) at ideal conditions, but after a slight OC it hits 28 C. I have my PC near a window with good airflow thanks to my case, which is a Thermaltake H15. My room is usually colder than others described as a hot sleeping area—today it was around -2°C. A clear example is my GPU, which uses fans and runs at 36 C ideally (imperial). It still produces some coil noise, so I'm not sure if OC would help much. My RAM is at 3600 MHz, and the BIOS shows XMP enabled at that frequency. The timing in Task Manager is interesting. For use, I mainly work on Photoshop and some games; I also have a laptop with a GTX 1650 for quilty gaming (compared to GT 1030). As a Uni photographer, I run Adobe apps like Premiere Pro and InDesign. I'm getting a 144Hz 1080p display, so I think it should work fine. I'm also considering a DisplayPort 1.4 cable, but my monitor isn't that port. I want to make sure I haven't missed anything to avoid bottlenecks, since color accuracy is crucial for my work.

Over time, my desired temperature has stabilized around 24°C. It could be my room is too cold, or perhaps the CPU isn't reading correctly. My GPU is now at 31°C.
