I'm setting up a budget PC using a Ryzen 5 2400G with the specified motherboards. I have a VGA cable monitor and opted for an 8GB RAM kit (Seagate Maxtor 240GB SSD or Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM). The power supply is either 450W or 550W (Corsair CX 2017 or better). Total cost must stay under 30,000 Rs ($422). I plan to run Linux and use it for Android Studio and programming.

1) Upgrading the CPU to a 3rd generation model – the board should still work.
2) RAM speed choices: 2133, 2400, 3000, 3200 MHz with CAS latency info. Suggestions needed.
3) Power supply: 450W or 550W? I’m leaning toward 550W but still considering.

Thanks in advance.

Purchase a B450 motherboard. An A320 isn't worth it. B450 provides a solid upgrade route and will serve you well if you ever need to overclock. Since you're using integrated Vega graphics, you'll benefit from a robust motherboard with strong VRM and heatsinks. RAM speed is important—higher numbers mean better performance. Look for a 3000MHz or 3200MHz kit with two 8GB modules if possible. Swap your mechanical hard drive for an SSD; that's the biggest upgrade you can make. Your power supply choice mainly depends on your future plans. My setup uses an R7 1700 with an RX580 and a 450W PSU, which works fine. I suggest upgrading to a Corsair CX450W and opting for a better B450 instead of a 550W PSU.

amd ryzen chips show significant performance variations with memory speed. the optimal range is around 3000mhz, and anything above that performs well.

I plan to use B450 and 450w. The CAS and latency in the VENGEANCE LPX 16GB 2x8 kit are C15—this shouldn’t impact performance much. I might slightly adjust it for lighter gaming.

The official support for the Ryzen 5 2400G reaches up to 2933MHz, meaning a 3000MHz frequency should be fine.

It will function properly as it's the official supported frequency. Anything higher is treated as RAM overclocking, though it should still operate. You're free to set it to 2933 if desired.

Lower latency is ideal. 3000c15 works well as a setup.

Optimizing performance requires lower latency, making a C15 3000MHz+ setup ideal.
