Good day,
It has been more than four years since my last research or purchase. I always seek your guidance before making a decision. Here is my questionnaire:
1. What is your budget? A maximum of $2000, with a slight flexibility if the value is worth it.
2. What notebook size are you looking at? At least 17 inches of screen.
3. What resolution do you require? Minimum 1920x1080.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Desktop option preferred.
5. How long do you expect the battery to last? Approximately one hour.
6. Would you like to play games on your laptop? Yes. Preferred titles include BG3, Elden Ring, Darktide, WoW, FFXIV. Running at high settings.
7. What other functions do you plan to use? (Photo/video editing, etc.) Gaming is the most demanding task. Office software for other uses.
8. How much storage space do you require? At least 1TB, preferably up to 2TB.
9. If you have specific sites in mind for buying, please share their links. These could be directly from manufacturers, NewEgg, or other trusted online sellers.
10. How long do you intend to keep your laptop? Typically around four years of use.
11. What type of optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer, Bluray ROM/Writer, etc. No optical drive needed; I often use multiple USB drives at once.
12. Please mention the brands you prefer and those you dislike, along with your reasons. I’ve had several good offers from Alienware and am generally satisfied. I don’t like ASUS and Toshiba due to past issues.
13. Where are you based? Canada.
14. Any further details you’d like to share? A backlit keyboard is a must (I often use my laptop in the dark or need visibility).

Now that I began my own research, it seems my initial budget might have been too low. The specifications I’m aiming for will likely bring me to the $2500-3000 CDN range. This appears to be the top choice:
https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/gam...li...r202?dbp=1
I believe this will give me more storage capacity.
The closest match I found was:
