I’m looking for recommendations on a new gaming laptop. I’ve built desktops before, but laptops are a different story. I need something portable that can run the games I mentioned: GTA V, American Truck Simulator, FIFA, House Flipper, NBA 2k, Call of Duty, and maybe some older titles like Far Cry. I want full 1080P HD support, not 4K or higher. A screen size between 15.6" and 17" would be ideal. The keyboard should have backlighting if possible, but it’s not essential. Quiet operation is important, and good airflow is a must. My budget is flexible—anything under $2500 would work, ideally under $1500 if I can manage.

Making your thread look like this one would really help the community more. You should be comfortable with any of the best style laptops available, considering your budget, but remember that games nowadays are increasingly demanding more from developers to achieve higher quality.

I've been using a Lenovo Legion 5 - ITH6H with an i7 11800H, 3060 (130W), 16GB RAM, and a 512 SSD featuring an IP screen at 1080p and 165Hz. The device includes a Mux switch and advanced Optimus technology, which helps maintain higher FPS by connecting the DGPU directly to the display. It stays cool and the noise level is manageable. I would definitely recommend it.

Lenovo Legion 5 with RTX3070 offers excellent value for money. After a year of comparing gaming laptops, this model consistently performs well. It includes full powered mobile GPUs, MUX switch, G-sync and V-sync support, and is reasonably priced. It’s a solid choice without any major drawbacks. Generally, I’ve noticed diminishing returns at higher specifications, so spending heavily on an expensive machine isn’t necessary. A good mid-range laptop with upgrades later tends to be more practical. View: https://youtu.be/qjO4OS3VA-k
The performance improvements from the RTX 3080 over the RTX 3070 are minimal, making the extra cost less justified. I’m planning to purchase the Legion 5 or 7 soon. View: https://youtu.be/6Iewhlouh2w
In summary, the Legion RTX 3070 ranks among the top performers in gaming. View: https://youtu.be/2uTsC5EcjYI
