Installed the newest security updates and restarted the system, but Windows stopped displaying search results. It seems stuck in a loop and consumes about 30-50% of the CPU. Additional details: Build info 1903: 18362.329 (W10 Home x64). I attempted to rebuild the index and moved its location, but it didn’t work. Also restarted the service, and I disabled Windows Defender.

The explanation is available at the provided Microsoft support link. The suggested method involves accessing Regedit with admin rights, navigating through specific keys, adjusting certain values, and then restarting the system to restore normal settings. This issue appeared with the latest Windows 10 update and was recognized prior to its widespread release. Quality assurance appears to have been compromised in the process.

This resolved the issue I faced; I added the AllowCortana entry myself. I’ve encountered similar problems on other devices too—they tend to push bugs to non-testers.
