My laptop performs well with solid thermal paste and a cooling pad, but the issue isn’t there. The highest GPU temp stays at 84°C, and during gaming it hits around 78°C without any stutters or drops—everything runs smoothly until recently. Now it consistently stays at about 65°C even during heavy gaming, and performance drops sharply with frequent downclocking every couple seconds. Please help, I can’t play anything anymore! The clock reads 135 MHz or lower. Your temps are fine, so don’t worry about cleaning—I’m sure the temperatures are okay.

You can take out the battery from your laptop and play while it stays connected to power. Doing this may reduce the temperature since the battery generates heat. Give it a shot!

Typically lowering the clock speed on laptops happens because of overheating while working hard, which means we should discuss your temperatures with you. What files have you installed recently that might be affecting your system?
