I wanted to join a RimWorld server with my friend, but we kept experiencing sync issues since we used mods. Frustrated, I decided to try setting up a shared RimWorld server on my PC. However, Vodafone blocked the port forwarding option through a contract, so I searched for alternatives. All the options I found were either too cheap or not very clear. I reached out to this forum again, hoping for some guidance.

Without the option to forward ports on your router, connecting a friend directly to a device on your network isn't possible. If they have another agreement, they could set up a server instead. You might also consider a third-party service that establishes a site-to-site VPN between you and them: https://bensoftware.com/blog/remote-acce...orwarding/
