So a month ago I assembled a new PC. It functioned properly for about a week, though I mistakenly installed the CPU fan upside down, leading to extremely high temperatures for three days. Around that time, after a week, I powered it on and it would crash into Windows, displaying a blue screen. I couldn’t load the system without it freezing for 5 to 60 seconds after startup. I only accessed the BIOS.

After trying various solutions, I took it to a repair shop and learned the issue was with my motherboard. They tested my PC using identical parts on another board, which worked fine, and ordered a replacement to confirm. Still, the crashes persisted.

Now I’m in need of a new motherboard but don’t know what specifications to seek. Should I look for something specific to avoid similar problems? Also, could you provide links to motherboards that are compatible with my system and include WiFi? Thanks.

You have an unlocked K suffix processor, so consider a Z series chipset motherboard. A Z790 would be ideal. You can utilize your processor effectively. What budget have you allocated for the motherboard? We’ve determined from your PCPartPicker link that you’re in the UK. Do you have a preferred purchasing location?

This might work, though I’m still a bit doubtful after the issues the previous MSI board caused. I’m not sure what exactly went wrong with that particular model, but it seems there might have been a compatibility problem with my system.
